We will be meeting Saturday morning for our monthly meeting - and this time, thankfully -NO MASKS!

Our guest speaker is Amy Reichert- the lone candidate to replace Nathan Fletcher in San Diego's Supervisor District 4. If you've been following the plight of our county airports, you know that Nathan Fletcher and Tera Lawson-Remer forced through a very damaging ordinance that will devastate KSEE and the 7 other county airports. And that - despite overwhelming evidence that the ordinance was bad for the airport, bad for the community and bad for the county. So Amy Reichert, who gained fame as a state-licensed investigator and co-founder ofRe-open San Diegois stepping up to challenge the union-supported Fletcher. Come hear how she intends to fight back and what that means for our airport and county.Primary elections are June 7.
We will also haveConway Mitchell from SoCal Traconto present and discuss issues affecting pilots in the complex airspace in Southern California. Both guests will be available for questions.
We'll also have some entertaining news about "stupid pilot tricks" that have made national headlines recently. I'll share my personal experience withLuke AikinsandAndy Farringtonas we watch a video of their plane-swapping stunt that caught the enforcement eye of theFAA! There's lots more, including an airport update from theAirport Manager Cathe Johnsonand the monthlyClassic Aircraft Sign-off- so have your planeon the ramp prior to 0900and we'll get you signed off for another month.

I've re-invitedGreg "Chaser" Keithleywho was the Navy's advisor to the movie to ourJune meetingfor some inside scoop on the 6-year process of making the movie. Chaser visited us last fall and entertained us with some great anecdotes of working with Tom Cruise and the cast. So plan on joining us inJunefor a very informative meeting. And that will be AFTER you see the movie - that opens officially on May 27!

ABOUT GPA
GPA's general membership meetings are typically held the first Saturday of every month at 9:00 a.m. in the Gillespie Field Administration Building, 1960 Joe Crosson Drive, El Cajon, CA 92020. Refreshments are provided, and meetings usually last about an hour (though hangar talk can go on indefinitely afterwards).
Our general meetings are a good place for you to get to know your fellow Gillespie pilots and to find out what's going on at your airport.
