Dear GPA members,

APRIL GPA MEETING CANCELLED

The GPA meeting scheduled for Saturday April 4th has been canceled. During these precarious times when the city, county, state, country and the world - are contemplating the best way to protect from corona virus infection, everyone is being cautious to limit their exposure to groups and crowds. Accordingly, out of an abundance of caution, your GPA leadership has decided to cancel our April meeting.

The County has also cancelled all meetings until further notice, including the GFDC meeting and Antique Aircraft Display Day. The County will make a decision about meetings being held on their properties after April 7. In the meantime, no gatherings or meetings are being allowed on County properties or facilities.

ANTIQUE AIRCRAFT DISPLAY DAY

Phyllis Trombi said those who regularly bring their aircraft to Display Day will receive a signoff, under circumstances similar to the “rainy day” credit given when rains.

We will let you know about the May 2nd meeting as soon as we know when meetings will be allowed again on County property. Assuming this pandemic hasn’t driven everyone too crazy, and once life begins to return to normal, we hope to resume our excellent meetings . We appreciate your faithful attendance and support at our meetings, they are a very important part of what keeps our airport safe and successful.

ABOUT GPA

GPA's general membership meetings are typically held the first Saturday of every month at 9:00 a.m. in the Gillespie Field Administration Building, 1960 Joe Crosson Drive, El Cajon, CA 92020. Refreshments are provided, and meetings usually last about an hour (though hangar talk can go on indefinitely afterwards).

Our general meetings are a good place for you to get to know your fellow Gillespie pilots and to find out what's going on at your airport.
